Activism: Reclaim Our Spaces: Game 3

Reclaim Our Spaces is an new Activist Group that encourages communities to reclaim their spaces. What does that mean? Cities across the U.S. and the world have been knocking down “history” (buildings, businesses, homes, etc) at an alarming rate. Many of these places have been developed into something, but many have not. Many of these places are just vacant dirt lots that are not being used for anything. What we are proposing is that people should go to these lots and do stuff with them. Fun Activities such as wiffleball, horseshoes, volleyball, tai chi, etc…. We want to show people that they can reclaim their space and use it, instead of complain about it or ignore completely. In Tempe, on October 3rd, 2009 we had a wiffle ball game on the corner of University and Ash Ave. We are planning more activities in the future…
Our second game was on October 17th. Once again it was a great success…Phils 11- Yanks 5

Our next event will be on December 12th: Phils vs Yanks
